Post Public Exhibition Update
03 August 2007
English Partnerships and Taylor Wimpey were pleased with the number of residents who attended the consultation event. It was very encouraging to see over 200 people at the event, considering the weather, and we were delighted that two-thirds of those who responded to the feedback form stated that they felt that the exhibition was useful in understanding the proposals. We would like to thank them all for the comments received.
Once we’ve completed the review of the information compiled at the exhibition, we will respond to all questions and suggestions via a newsletter and the RAF Staff College website. We understand the concern of local residents over a development of this type and scale. We do listen to these concerns and, as with previous comments, we will fully consider the issues raised and wherever possible incorporate them into our future plans.
It is imperative, with the need for so many new homes, that we make the most sustainable use of this brown field site. To ensure a well balanced community, it is important to get a clearer understanding of local need for community and mixed use facilities. Feedback from the event will be used to shape the future plans.
People who expressed an interest in the community and mixed use facilities at the public exhibition will be contacted directly and given the opportunity to become involved in further, more detailed consultation. We would urge any members of the community who feel they can add to this process to contact Taylor Wimpey or English Partnerships via this website or phone the RAF Staff College team at Golley Slater on 020 7255 6400.
