Taylor Wimpey has been working with English Partnerships since 2005 looking at ways to best move forward the redevelopment of The Parks, the former RAF Staff College site, off Broad Lane in Bracknell.

The 44 hectare (110 acres) brownfield site was originally allocated for housing development in the Bracknell Forest Borough Council adopted Local Plan in 2002. An outline planning application for 730 dwellings and community facilities was approved by the Borough Council in 2003. This outline consent formed the basis of the detailed planning permission which was granted in September 2006 and has enabled the early delivery of the first new homes.

In parallel with the early delivery of the first new homes in Phase One, Taylor Wimpey and English Partnerships have been exploring whether it might be possible to enhance the density of the development whilst still maintaining appropriate levels of privacy to surrounding residents. This approach is in line with national policy to ensure the most efficient use of this type of well-located brownfield site.

The result has been the development of an enhanced masterplan which aims to meet local housing and community needs on a high quality, yet previously developed site, that is close to the town centre and existing facilities.

Our vision is to create a truly sustainable development that will enable people to live in an affordable and decent home in a community where they want to settle and safeguard the local environment for future generations.
